haha today was an okay day too!
and it turns out, the only test i had to take was the english one!
which was relatively easy..
but the stupid listening one is madness.. seriously..
the instructions are to tick the word which is said in the audio thing, and they give sentences like: " have u played [ Dennis / Tennis ] recently?"
and the thing is the answer isnt always the obvious one, like this one should be tennis but i think i heard dennis..
and firstly the person talking in the tape was talking suuper fast.. like bullet train.. so its real hard to cath the pronounciations,
secondly its ang moh accentish and so the pronounciations not so pronounced..
also if u miss one word u dun have time to think abt what u heard, cuz by then u'd have missed the next one..
goodness.=.=
but other than that the tests wer easy..
there was a cloze passage, grammar stuff and vocab stuff tht was kinda hard.. and u had to write a 10min essay bout urself..
mm

tmr dun nid go sch liao cuz i alredy chose my subjects and my teachers alredy chosen..
yeh so i dun have sch till thurdsay! yay!
which is th official sch opening day for the whole sch..

i'm gonna go swimming wif odie n elisha n esther liao..
btw all those r my cousins..
hahas.. but i ddunno how im gonna swim later..
cuz its kinda cold..

helos!
well today wasnt SUCH a bad day..
in fact it was quite okay..
altho its started kinda weird lols..
well anyways heres how it went..

woke up at 8 and made my lunch (to bring to sch cuz they dun relly provide)
and changed n ate the really tasteless oat bran cereal w/ choc milk n a banana which i found quite hard to swallow in the morning.. haha..
then wore sch uni n stuff n left the house feeling a little nervous!
and the shoes wer a bit big for my feet so a bit difficult to walk.. and the floor was wet from rain in e morning..
so i reached the sch and walked in a bit and saw this (quite noisy) group of students [some in uni some in outside clothes] and i thought it was the international students assembling.
and then this oldish teacher came and brought us all into a little rm n i blurly followed..
and she started talking n said sth like welcome to sth sth.. i thought i heard sth abt training n i was like, oh no m i in the wrong place?
hah then she started tking attendance n i was like, okay if she doesnt call my name i'm in the wrong place.. and she really din call my name!!
n i was like *omg!!* so i went up to her n told her "errm hi i htink im in the wrong place.. haha.."
and then she called someone to bring me to the correct assembly place and was like, "is anyone else in the wrong place?"
omg.. =_=

okay so this girl who looked older than me brought me to the corect place.. and we talked a bit. n it turned out sh was a peer support leader who was gonna be bringing the intl students arnd the schl later on.. haha!
and it was real coincidental: she happened to take my small group for the tour.. heeh..

and hey the sch actually has its own dark room! u noe, a place whre u develop the photos n stuff. so cool!
and the whole compound is real big..
also the sch library is also a public library.. which is real cool..

more than 46 international students dis yer.. more coming in nex week!
a lot of them from korea, some japanese, some malaysians n one other singaporean who's lived in nz for 4 yeas liao.. lols..
one german guy, and others i dun really noe where they're from..
but i guess i made a few not-really-friends-but--still-considered-friends frens....
haha..
yeh so overall i guess it was pretty okay..
after that i walked home..

i've been sewing up my school skirts from last night till tis afertnoon..
gosh its hard work..
btw im sewing the skirts shorter cuz they're relly long..
if i dun sew it up it'll b jus a little higher than the middle of my calf.

i got pricked by the needles and pins a couple of times, and my back ached lots while i was sewing,
but it was worth it!!
haha..
but can see the sew line tho..


tomorrow will b the first day of a new life!

kinda nervous bout it..
and i hope it'll go well..
n hopefully i'll make a few new frens!

went to 9 o clock service today!
n i was sleepy =x
AND AND NO ACOUSTIC GUITARIST!! AAAAAAAAAH...
lols i always notice when ther r no acoustic gutarists.. =/

after service went to the warehouse to do some shopping..
the clothes ther r kinda nice!
n my uncle n aunt bought a small bookshelf for $10..
then w went to hornby mall and bought groceries..
then lunched

then went home..
me n gaius satyed home while odie n her parents went to some kite flying festival..
and i fixed the bookshelf!
yays..
it was kinda fun..
doing it by myself lol..

when odie was back i saw some weird looking pinky cake thing on the table..
n it was full of CREam...the pink stuff was icing..
and the whole thing was super sinful..
i tried a little slice with odie (cutting it is really messy business!)
the icing is super sweet n yucky, theres jam on the bottom part and loaded with kinda tasteless cream.. but eat together (with the icing scraped off) was not so bad..
gosh its reallly really sinful tho..
so scary.
then had dinner and me n odie went to swings.. (our daily routine thing.. and sort of our only form of exercise)
and then here i am..

3 more days till sch..

tmr going to second hand uniform sale again..
i hope i can find a skirt that fits me..

yay i'm so happy!
i got a book of dog breeds for 70CENTS!!
i noe its unbelievable but its true.. buahahhaa im so happy!!
sale price was $7 but ther was a 90% discount for the books on that table..
and the book not bad leh..
hardcover, more than 250 dg breeeds, nice pics..
but the book didnt talk bout the dog characters n stuff.. more bout the history of the breed..
but oh well..
AND and!
i got a whale encyclopedia for only $10.50!!!!
and its really nice..
yaayes...

n i've nearly bought all the uniform stuff alredy..
now all i need is one more skirt..
but goodness the uniforms here soo ex leh..
i spent nz$165 on one second hand jacket, sweater and kilt..
and brand new skirt is $45 and blouse is $48, and dun have my size for second hand..
so so far i spent ab $316 on unifroms.. and thats including socks which is $20 three pairs..
*dies*

theres 4 days till 30th jan..
and i dun wan sch to start!

i scared of the ang mohs.. lol..
they can b kinda nasty..
haii...

its friday again!
abt 2 n a half weeks of being in nz..
i STILL HAVENT FOUND A job!
do wish me luck in finding one lols..
6 more days till the first day of orientation..
30th jan im dreading u..

baaahhh sian.

joyce poon dun worry my accent's not gonna b weird weird..
actualy im not sure how much im gonna tok like a kiwi when i come back..
cuz my cousin's been here abt 3 yrs but he dont really have an accent..
but tthats probably cuz she dont tok to much kiwis?
and she oks to her fren in chinese..
haha..
but my other cousin's got a bit of accent lor..
so..
oh and im jus not talking singlish..
except when typing out! hha!
but singlish is so cool..
i wouldnt wana not b able to speak it when im back..

today was so boring..
it rained..
so me n cousins stayed home the whole day..
n i spent my day on computer and book..
and i finally finished reading the sterkam handshake!
gosh the ending was so long winded..
i got lazy n skipped a lot of paragraphs.. aha..
the writer really describes a lot of stuff..
till so sian.
yeh.. so nothing much la..
i still havent found a job yet..
waiting to meet an indian guy who's gonna open an indian takeaway..

and chocolate fishes r so nice!!
its like, berry marshmellow inside and chocolate coating, and is shaped like a fish!
and its so nice..

me n odie went cycling today so she could show me the way to walk home from sch..
then while we were cycling i asked her for directions and i braked suddenly..
and she was like, "aaah!"
and i was like "aaaaah!"
and we crashed..
hahaha..

today i din do much..
i feel so bad for not studying much..
i still got econs to read up on, and maths to do and maybe a bit of science..
zzz...

and its 21st already..
sch starting soon nehs..
waah..

i jus woke up!!
n its 12.45!

having oat bran cereal for breakfast..
and its tasteless but my mum bought it n she couldnt finish cuz she was coughing..
sigh..
but at least the choc milk wif it is nice..

i just had like, the worst $4 iced chocolate ever..
tastes like nothing but diluted milk and makes u feel sick after drinking a whole cup..

so im finally on my own!
not that i wanted her to leave la..

i'm reading this book called the sterkarm handshake that odie boro-ed frm library..
and i shudnt have started reading!!
cuz now im hooked and i'm supposed to be reading up on econs and accounting..
oh and they use like, different terms in accounting here..
argh..

and today after lunch we (referring to cousins n uncle n aunt) went to look at house for sale..
i htink they gonna buy a new house!
which wud b so cool!
my uncle stuff about how the house now is so small..
i find it okaay tho...
*shrugs*

and im reading what i just wrote and i think i osund damn random..

i'm thinking of nicknaming myself lynn..
cuz the ang mohs here pronounce my name as like, shaylyn..
as in the A they pronounce like the A in sAy..
and that is ridiculous..

the weather just got much cooler..
altho the daytimes really suc sometimes..
cuz its so hot in the day..
then later on the wind gets colder and stuff..
then black clouds show sometimes
and then its really cold outside..
altho not really near 0 degrees..
anyway..

i'm really gonna have to work really hard when sch re-opens..

there'll b sch in the day till like, 3.30?
then work [as in part-time work after sch]
then apart from those i'll b getting a cca.. hopefully its not gonna b too demanding. haa..
and also i wana play the guitar for church [altho its not really gonna happen now.. maybe when i get used to the church here.. ^^]
on top of all that i need to get really good results so i can at least hope for a scholarship to a university..

my aunt says the english here is really difficult?
gosh..
my english really got worse some time ago.. x_x

oh my gosh by the way, i went to the city today with all my cousins [except for the youngest one who's like, 8] and the bubble tea costs like, $4 for a 500ml cup.. zzZzZzz..
a mc chicken is abt $4.90 or sth..
an apple pie's $2 and is smaller than sg's one..
THEY DONT HAVE MCFLURRIES!!
aaaah...
they dont even have ice milo ='(...
and their fries r super salty..
well, that jus for the mcdonald outlet i went to.. dunno bout others..
but gosh..
no mcflurry..

waah friday alredy...
5 days of being in nz and a lot more days to go!!
hahaha.. =.=

jus went on a trip to queenstown..
blueh..
its like an 8 hr journey frm christchurch..
but i saw lots of sheep (yeah yeah..) and horses and llamas and deer and farm...
and mountains and lakes (a LOT of them)
and rivers..
ya i think dats abt all..
and i went horse riding at queesntown ytd..
yay! havent rode for ages..
but rode kinda slow la.. =.=

n like, i'm at my cousin's house now...

omg the stuff here's relly ex..
like the food..

and i dun relly rmb what else i ate during the trip so..
