life is what we make of it.
we could have chosen not to walk down the same path again,
but we find ourselves on it once more,
pitting ourselves against all the hurt
- from betrayal, from rejection..
from words and actions that make us feel as if
we'd been stabbed by a white hot blade.

We walk down that same path for a reason.
maybe we're all just looking for something.
we keep convincing ourselves, though,
that that trail full of thorns and hidden traps
would lead us to the thing we're looking for.
even though we can't see where that road leads,
even though we don't exactly know what we're looking for in the first place.

the path is sometimes good,
there's a rainbow overhead, the sun's shinning,
and suddenly we drop into a pit and it starts raining.
but life goes on, and we pick ourselves up.
it goes on and we grow tired of it.


sometimes a really feel like going blind.
maybe then i'd be able to see things in a different light.
maybe going mute wouldn't be that bad either,
then i'll listen better.
i really wouldn't mind.
