The time was 7:44 PM

yayes i managed to find this really cool blog skin..
took super long to get one that suited my blog though..
and then the editting was easy enough..

today sch had a "mass eating" thing for racial harmony..
we had to eat this malay food thing with our hands..
haha..
felt weird, but the food was nice, and super filling!!!

after sch i decided to look for the DM to get my council badge back.
for those who dont know the story, here goes:

i was late on wednesday, 15 july by 5 mins, cuz i sorta left house a bit late, and the bus took a while to reach, and the bus driver was driving like.. =.=.. slow..

so, late by 5 mins i got to the school gate where the DM was waiting. the group of us latecomers were made to stand in front of him and student leaders were told to take their [student leader] badges off. and obviously i was one of them.

okay so i sorta understand that i should have been more responsible as a student leader, yada yada, but this was actually the first time ever, in my whole time in the school that i have ever been late.

and only by 5 mins. and my badge was taken.

so, i started thinking about the unreasonable-ness of the whole thing, and i just imagined that if i were to go up to the DM and say

"Mr DM, i think i am quite right in saying that even you have been late before, and i pretty sure that you had no intention of doing so. but because of unforseen circumstances, you were delayed in getting to your destination in time. i hope that you would try to understand that i could not help the fact that i was already on the bus and was going to be late. this is the first ever time i have ever been late, and whats more, only by 5 mins. i therefore do not understand why you have to punish me as if i did something that put the school's name to shame."

wow, i would so totally get killed, even if i said it in the politest form of speech..

so later i was reading the papers and came across this article about singapore ticking off this british writer who said that singapore is practicing a modern, undemocratic form of authoritarianism.

the singapore high commissioner in london rejected this view, saying that "those who disagree with or oppose the government are free to speak out, challenge the government, and contest in free and fair elections."

i dont know if u see the irony in this.

also, wasnt mr brown banned from writting for newspapers because he said something bad about the government?

and so i conclude that SINGAPORE IS, IN FACT, A PLACE THAT PRACTICES THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

so anyway,

i went to the dm to get my badge.
waited for him outside the room (where he was scolding 3 other guys)
for about an hour? he wasnt aware la, cuz he din see me..

then i went in and he made me write a letter saying that the next time i come late, my badge will be suspended forever.

right.
